About Jihee Kim

Jihee Kim is a jewelry designer and crafter currently residing in the Seattle, Washington area.  As a promising new designer, her work has gained attention with customers in the United States and overseas.

Jihee’s designs were described by a reviewer as “charming, simple, and classically sexy. It is jewelry for a strong modern woman that maintains her sensual femininity while maintaining her strong individuality.” Her jewelry is made with a range of colors from gems such as carnelian, amethyst, peridot, quartz, crystal, tourmaline, iolite and especially pearl with silver or sterling silver.  More recently, she has incorporated brass filigree, oxidized silver, brass and precious metal clay.

Inspirations for her work include the beauty of nature, as well as manmade creations, from large sculptures to small, simple subtle patterns. 

Until her start in jewelry, Jihee enjoyed oil painting and various crafts.  Her work with oil was featured in several exhibitions. 

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Jihee has lived in Hong Kong, Singapore, and on both coasts of the US.   Over the years, her work and travels took her to many exciting regions of the world, including Eastern and Western Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia / New Zealand, Africa, and the Middle East.  Her exposure to a wide array and diversity of art continue to be inspiration for designs.

Prior to designing jewelry, Jihee spent several years with a global financial organization in Washington, DC.  Jihee has an MBA from George Washington University and a BS, Biology, from Ehwa Woman’s University in South Korea. 

Jihee is married and lives with her two sons and a husband in the Seattle area.
